Part 2 of tournement 1st and 3rd in the KOs

I need to figure out something to fix the quality. I think I remember hearing something about resizing the videos or changing something before you submit it to make it better quality, I'm not sure, I'll have to figure it out.

Part 1 of tournement 1st and 3rd in the KOs

part 2 will come maybe tommorrow. I told myself I would upload at least part of this today, so here's part 1.
Once I downloaded it to youtube the quality wasn't as good, I'll try to look into how to fix that.
After pushing with 88 and losing a big pot in a coinflip to someone who called with KQ, 2 hands later I didn't even have 2 big blinds but I had AK and the blinds trippled me up. In the other tournement I limped with QQ hoping to get in a limp raise or to trap someone thinking their top pair of jacks was good, but after the 774 flop I had to just bet and take it down.
Made a mistake reraising with 88, but 88 looked pretty good when the blinds were so big when he went over the top all in, I knew I was beat over his hand range, but I was getting 2 to 1 and I was better then 33% to win over his hand range. The question was then, if I fold and lose, what are my chances of winning, and whether or not the difference is better than my chances of surviving. And then I had to check the payout and the tournement at this stage definately has to be played to win so I went for it and got lucky

1st and 3rd top 3 in 2 of the last 3 tournements

Now I'm starting to "get it" I think.
I've been playing 90 person SNGs with KO bounties mostly because the situation at the last 3 tables and last 2 tables is where I need the practice. I made some adjustments and I'm on the verge of figureing this out I think.
Here's the pics. It was very difficult playing both final tables at once. I had some very difficult decisions to make at both tables, but it turned out just fine.

I have videos of both final tables going on simultanously. They have been recorded. However, I need to edit them to keep them under 10 minutes and then I need to upload them, and I've got some other things I have to do, so it'll be awhile.

Gank is playing on Full Tilt Poker right now!

From purchasing Micon Secrets I have been watching Brett "Gank" Jungblutt. He's a very solid player. He doesn't quite do the small pot poker, but he does have a very solid tight aggressive poker style that he does very well with. He can really accumulate chips and really hang onto a short stack. Very fundimentally sound player.
Anyways, aside from him being on Micon Secrets, he's also currently getting ready to play in about 4 poker tournements at fulltilt poker. goto "requests: find player" and search for "Gank". And if you can, watch him play.
If you can't watch him on Full Tilt, and you aren't ordering Micon Secrets, you can still see him at some videos at Http://propokerschool.com as well.
The tournements have not started yet, so if you're reading this, you still have time to watch him!
update: Micon on as well

One of the things that really impresses me about Gank, is how he can always hang in there. He never really gives up and you can never count him out... similar to Helmuth in that respect.
If you're powering away a table and get a bad beat, and get knocked way down from chip leader to average stack, just watch this guy play a little bit, and you'll know you're never out.

Almost folded top set!

I knew laying down top set was the right move... how often can I say that?
it was a sick read, but I didn't make it count. Would have LOVED to be at the table with the guy when he moved in on me so I could just get that tiny little verification... and then call out his hand and let him know that I'll show if he shows and show everyone the monster monster laydown.

The situation is I limp from EP with QQs a normally unusual move, but I really felt I could have my opponents walk into a minefield on a rag flop or Jack high flop, and I was really hoping for a limp raise. But they all limp behind and the flop is Q92. I make a potsized bet, hoping someone goes over the top of what would be a large bet for me.

Everyone folds but the small blind who calls. He checks to me. The turn is a T. He checks to me. A very odd play since if he had any peice of that flop, he'd either want to block bet me, or bet to see where he was at, or overbet to chase out a draw. So I check behind.
River comes 3 or something insignificant. He goes all in. Big overbet too. My first thought was. He hit the straight. Then it was a question of his hand. KJ or J8. He was in the small blind, in unraised pot, so you could give him credit for either, but J8 was a gutshot so he probably wouldn't call pot sized bet. KJ it was. If I had more time, I think I might've been able to make the fold. Wasn't a big pot, weasn't much invested, and I still could have done just fine.
I know the turn hit him, and I couldn't see him playing a set or a pair like that...
but midway during the hand my comp froze, disconnected, recconected, and my other tables were going nuts, and the time was ticking down.
I typed in "this is just sick" into the chat box...
I hit the timebutton but only got 10 secs after the disconnect. So I said, no, I can't fold top set... then I thought. I'm beat, I can feel it... then I saw the time at like 2 seconds and I just made the call.
KJ was right. And I just felt it too the instant he went all in. I wish I could have just detached myself from how awesome of a hand top set is against a small blind with only 2 hands that can beat me.
I'm actually a little frustrated that I didn't do it, but very confident in my game right now that I can even think about doing that.

ooops

got down to 13 players and I decided to pick up the aggression. I raised AT and SB called flop came 822 which seemed pretty raggedity and my opponent bet out a pot sized bet. I really felt he was making a move and I didn't think he would have just called preflop unless he was at that stage, so I shoved in for 3 times his bet which was only about 2.5 times the pot. Tunrs out he had K8 and I was stupid because he had more chips than me. Seems I'm just not mentally focused today.
I should not have gone after him, as there were plenty people with less chips. a small raise was fine, but it would have been fine to give it up. Funny, I thought I would do much better in that table and it turns out I'm still alive in table 3 where I've been card dead.
I moved in a few times with rags to survive a couple rounds of blinds but they've gone up, and the antes are eating me away. I'm going to have to double up here and hope to take down a blind, or hope to get a raise call call and someone moving over the top so I can get isolated with dead money in the pot. I've got 3700 with 400/800 blinds 100 ante so it's not like I can scare people or wait for a hand... The small blind just gave up her small blind to my big blind, although I had A9 so I would've shoved in. 14 players left, but I'm in desperation mode now. It still wouldn't surprise me if I finally picked up a bunch of good cards, and went on and won, but right now, I'm just trying to hold on till the money, or until I can get chip leverage. I'm 10th in chips, but it doesn't matter because I'm short stacked at my table.
Update: went out 12th. Picked up king high on the button, knew I had to make a move within the next few hands just to survive, sure other opponents did too, but I think I had to make a move if I wanted any shot at the money there. and yay, my opponent had KJ, not quite the hand I was looking for to call me. I suppose I could have limped that hand and then moved all in or check/folded the flop one more time, and just look for a call where I'm isolated with dead money in the pot or just take my next big blind and blind down if they don't raise it. Then maybe complete from small blind and shove all in, but I'd prefer to push while I still have a chance for either people to fold or to call with Q or J high and have the better hand, and then potentially still have the option to make a move all in later and from there I could steal some blinds with min raises and be off to the aggressive bubble stealer who comes out of no where. No regrets on that tournement, just card dead and I still just about made it. 3 finishes, 2 just outside the bubble, oh well. If I had a little more focus, I probably would have gotten in the money on all of them.Maybe I should take Ritalin so I don't keep having "A.D.D." moments, but I can just feel myself coming together one of these days, and just playing amazing without the lapses, and making money left and right.
Maybe I need a routine so i stay focused, maybe I shouldn't try to give you updates unless I'm on break.

Lesson of the day: If you're going to make a mistake, always make it on the aggressive side against players who have less chips than you.

Won it!

Last Night I was too tired to post but I not only cashed in the 90 person $3 SNG knockout, but I won it. Not only that, but I also got 15 bounties as I hunted down the short stacks.

A 2 part video of the final table coming shortly if I can figure out this windows movie maker thing.

When I signed up I hadn't realized it was a SNG that's run regularly, i just saw $3 knockout ready to start so I joined quickly...
This morning I entered 3 more knockout tournements.
The first one I started, I had KJs and tried to limp there was a raise but 3 callers so I called 120 more. The pot was huge and the dream AQT flop came with a heart draw. I checked and player on the button shoved all in and another player called. I instacalled quicker than Phil Helmuth. They had no draw to beat me except for hitting runner runner quads so I was about 98% to win. I had KK and limped in, and someone from the button shoved all in for 1/4th my stack and I called and he had KJ.
I moved tables and limped with someone with QJ and after an AK flop my opponent with 9000 in chips bet 600 into 900 pot. I felt I could take his whole stack if I hit so I flat called. I hit the T on the turn and he bet the pot I raised to which he called the flush card missed and he bet and I shoved all in for 3000 more and he called...
As I'm typing this, I thought a short stack moved over my raise all in so it was 2500 to call a 5000 pot, but it turns out I had a brainfart or something so I called with KTs which I never would have done if I knew he had more chips. The flop came king high and he immediately went all in. I was pissed at making the rookie mistake and I decided to call, but he had AA and that took about half my stack. Meanwhile I hit a king with KQ and some maniac checkraised me all in and I called and he had ace high and managed to hit and take most of my stack to which I went out the next hand.
Bad misteak to bet into a manic, I was just too distracted from my mistake at the other table. I just have mental lapses every now and then when I multitable tournements, I'm not sure why I don't seem to have much problems with 8 cash games, but 3 MTTs and I struggle.
Anyways, table number 2+3 I was doing really well in also, accumulating chips gradually and essentially "risk free. " (small pots). I made a crazy laydown on table 2 before I donked off my chips. I limped with 68s and there was a raise and everyone was calling. The flop came T9K with the T( of dimonds) There was an all in and a call in front of me, giving me 3 to 1 to call with 40+% to hit, it's a automatic call to most people... But there waas less than 40 players left, and I was in 9th place but the guy had me covered, and I felt I could normally get to the final table anyways, and from there steal a few blinds and take a shot with a 50% chance of winning, maybe better, maybe worse, and still be in position to chop away and win the tournement. I might even pick up a hand and have a raise and an all in and get isolated with 2 to 1 with aces or kings or queens or AK for all I know. I laughed as I clicked fold, and then I thought of how Phil folded a straightflush draw in the main event of the WSOP. I'm no Helmuth, but against this field, I might as well be. I still feel I made the right laydown as the field felt really soft loose preflop, tight/weak post flop, with random sporatic all ins, and loose all in calls on the flop turn and river. Perfect Perfect perfect for small pot poker. Which makes me really mad that I called with only a pair on an all in on the flop later on after my other move. Sure I had an 88% to win that hand to give me enough chips to put it on cruise control until about 15-20 players left or longer, but I have no reason not to just check the flop, and fold to an all in if that's what he does into a small pot. There were plenty of more fish to fry and I was still very deep stacked with 50 times the big blind.
Table 3 has been boring, bu very solid tight wait and wait, and then pick a blind or small pot or limp with rags The blinds kicked up, there's 28 players left, I'm 21st in chips but I'm going need to make a move on the short stacks blinds as I only have 4000 now with 250/500 blinds and 75 antes in. 3 tables left at SNG 3, 2 tables left at game 1. I definately have a shot at both of them, although table 3 will be tough.

Dominating the $3.00+.30 KO

Check me out if you'd like $3+.3 on fulltilt mike2mike is my SN...
It's a KO tournement with .5 bountys... I decided to just go after people and I won a coinflip very early on knocked a guy ou, then hit a set and knocked out a guy who had KK
Had aces and moved in and got called by 2 people, one with TT and another with KK...
Moved in when I hit a set and got called by top pair...
I've been sitting on my chip lead, toying with people, overbetting the pot, trying to set them up to come over the top of me with the all in move or to call my all ins.
I'm flat calling in position with hands both good and bad because I want to have my hand be disguised, use my chip stack as power, call down and bluff, show a few bluffs, play a lot of hands. I'll probably tighten up here once I got played back at, but for now, I'm mixing up big bets with very small bets and limps and flat calls and confusing them, the opponent I've been flat calling has just increased his raise to 5X the big blind so I'll give him some respect unless he makes a habit out of it or I get a hand, I'll repop him... I'm actually pretty impressed with his play (Dan Tucker1) he plays good small ball, he made a great call on the river against me. I'm trying to mix it up with him and make him unconfortable and force him to tighten up, and switch up his game. So far it's looking good 38 players left pays to top 10.
Update: my gamble to switch up my game did not pay off although I did get another bounty and I'm still first in chips, I'm down quite a bit now. Not time to tighten up yet, but time to tone down aggressive completely. I'm definately only going to play small pots with people that have big stacks that can hurt me... although I definately want to see some flops and try to hit two pair or straight and bust their aces.
Update2: I've been going after the bounty and getting really lucky but with the blinds and antes, and me still having chip position regardless, it's worth the gamble in my opinion. People are afraid of me because I've been hitting so many hands. They think I'll call anything so they're playing tight... that's to my advantage, but I have to be careful and remember they're trying to set me up. I'm only going after short stacks bounties.

Update!

Wow that didn't take long. I lost a couple big hands first, and without even sitting down with my 7-15% bankroll (just my modified 5-7%) I won a few and now I'm up to $450. That only took a few minutes! Granted I was playing in 8 games at once, it's still pretty quick money. I was up to $470 as I started to type this but I have a tendency to play too loose and too aggressive after winning a bunch because I start to feel almost invincible, so I'm going to take a break. The hand I just lost was from the big blind when there was a raise and two calls and I felt I could isolate headsup, but I only had 55. I got called by AJ but the ace hit. Questionable move, but I errored on the aggressive side, and the tables play so reckless that there's plenty of unpaired hands that I felt would raise, and call a raise. No need to try to play that fast though even knowing that I picked the most action oriented tables so I'm taking a break. I'll be back later explaining a few things that I have in store for you.

Chalenge is back on

Okay, so a kind of long story here. I'll get into it later. I messed up, my account was at $902 briefly I thought I could finish and get to $1000 before vegas, but didn't manage to do it... Had I gotten redeposit bonuses, and rakeback, I would have. that's pretty close, but before I left I played a few cash games and got busted down to $800 before climbing to $850. Well when I had a trip to vegas, I entered a $60 tournement which is too much for my rules, but it's entertainment value, and was the best tournement based on the blind structure that could be had for under $100. So I ended up winning $380 or $320 profit on a $60 buy in, which technically put me over the $1000 mark.
I took home $500 winnings overall from Vegas.
Now what? I'm in the gambling mood, so I get home and I start playing blackjack on my bodog account until I get knocked down to $200, then I sit in with $50 in cash games until I go bust.
Just goes to show you that if you break your rules, your rules can break you.
I got a lot more coming and a more in depth story of how I did well at the tournement in vegas...
and If you thought I was done and gone and out of the world I got news for you...
I'm back!
Due to the attention this site has gotten (aparently I wasn't aware since no one comments), a few people signed up to fulltilt after following the link and used bonus code "secretbonus" aside from them getting a cool bonus I took back 25% of the rake. So I decide to take $50 of the winnings and play a few cash games. Turns out the games are super soft, allowing me to just play 8 games at once and just wait for hands. Well 3 days later and my account is up to $400.
I've modified my bankroll requirements slightly
as long as I'm winning consistantly I sit down with up to 7% but somewhere between 5-7% instead of 5%. I also have 20% of my games between 7% and 15% where I'm "taking a shot" and to counter that, I have 20% of my games below 5% of my total bankroll. It has been very effective, as I can sit in and go on a run and win with 12% of my bankroll and double that up, increasing my stack size 12%. Since I leave immediately after a rotation, there's less varience then someone who continues to play, and plus I'm a bigger winner since the blinds are larger compared to the minimum stack then a max stack at a lower table. I also play only premium hands at the higher table to protect my stack. I went on a horrible run of cards, losing to aces 3 times, kings twice, and tens against KQ and AK against KQ, but because I only had 20% of my games that I was playing in higher stakes and because I had an average of only about 7% of my bankroll at risk per game, I was able to stay in the game. And because the games are so friggen juicy, I was able to bounce back that very same day. My bankroll went from 300 down to 200 and back to 280 again, and then up to $400 the next day.
It's been working and I intend on getting to $1000 within a month if this continues.
I Have a lot in store for you, I'm going to do a couple podcasts this weekend to get you all caught up on what's been going on.
This affiliate stuff works as an EXCELLENT bankroll builder.
I have some great news on a new challenge that I will have as soon as I hit zero to a thousand.
I'm off to play at fulltilt and work on some surprises I have in store!
