Last Night I was too tired to post but I not only cashed in the 90 person $3 SNG knockout, but I won it. Not only that, but I also got 15 bounties as I hunted down the short stacks.
A 2 part video of the final table coming shortly if I can figure out this windows movie maker thing.
When I signed up I hadn't realized it was a SNG that's run regularly, i just saw $3 knockout ready to start so I joined quickly...
This morning I entered 3 more knockout tournements.
The first one I started, I had KJs and tried to limp there was a raise but 3 callers so I called 120 more. The pot was huge and the dream AQT flop came with a heart draw. I checked and player on the button shoved all in and another player called. I instacalled quicker than Phil Helmuth. They had no draw to beat me except for hitting runner runner quads so I was about 98% to win. I had KK and limped in, and someone from the button shoved all in for 1/4th my stack and I called and he had KJ.
I moved tables and limped with someone with QJ and after an AK flop my opponent with 9000 in chips bet 600 into 900 pot. I felt I could take his whole stack if I hit so I flat called. I hit the T on the turn and he bet the pot I raised to which he called the flush card missed and he bet and I shoved all in for 3000 more and he called...
As I'm typing this, I thought a short stack moved over my raise all in so it was 2500 to call a 5000 pot, but it turns out I had a brainfart or something so I called with KTs which I never would have done if I knew he had more chips. The flop came king high and he immediately went all in. I was pissed at making the rookie mistake and I decided to call, but he had AA and that took about half my stack. Meanwhile I hit a king with KQ and some maniac checkraised me all in and I called and he had ace high and managed to hit and take most of my stack to which I went out the next hand.
Bad misteak to bet into a manic, I was just too distracted from my mistake at the other table. I just have mental lapses every now and then when I multitable tournements, I'm not sure why I don't seem to have much problems with 8 cash games, but 3 MTTs and I struggle.
Anyways, table number 2+3 I was doing really well in also, accumulating chips gradually and essentially "risk free. " (small pots). I made a crazy laydown on table 2 before I donked off my chips. I limped with 68s and there was a raise and everyone was calling. The flop came T9K with the T( of dimonds) There was an all in and a call in front of me, giving me 3 to 1 to call with 40+% to hit, it's a automatic call to most people... But there waas less than 40 players left, and I was in 9th place but the guy had me covered, and I felt I could normally get to the final table anyways, and from there steal a few blinds and take a shot with a 50% chance of winning, maybe better, maybe worse, and still be in position to chop away and win the tournement. I might even pick up a hand and have a raise and an all in and get isolated with 2 to 1 with aces or kings or queens or AK for all I know. I laughed as I clicked fold, and then I thought of how Phil folded a straightflush draw in the main event of the WSOP. I'm no Helmuth, but against this field, I might as well be. I still feel I made the right laydown as the field felt really soft loose preflop, tight/weak post flop, with random sporatic all ins, and loose all in calls on the flop turn and river. Perfect Perfect perfect for small pot poker. Which makes me really mad that I called with only a pair on an all in on the flop later on after my other move. Sure I had an 88% to win that hand to give me enough chips to put it on cruise control until about 15-20 players left or longer, but I have no reason not to just check the flop, and fold to an all in if that's what he does into a small pot. There were plenty of more fish to fry and I was still very deep stacked with 50 times the big blind.
Table 3 has been boring, bu very solid tight wait and wait, and then pick a blind or small pot or limp with rags The blinds kicked up, there's 28 players left, I'm 21st in chips but I'm going need to make a move on the short stacks blinds as I only have 4000 now with 250/500 blinds and 75 antes in. 3 tables left at SNG 3, 2 tables left at game 1. I definately have a shot at both of them, although table 3 will be tough.
